I asked for she is and hers; I asked for women who I could bless and those who would be a blessing to me. Be careful what you ask for--you will get it! I asked for women full of divine purpose, wisdom, understanding, humility, patience, love, and joy. I asked for them to be found in my city, state, nation, and the world at large. I didn't ask for perfection, but right intentions. Right intentions from me to them (the she's and hers), and for none of us to do harm. However, not everything turned out according to my intentions. Well, so I thought. Yes, Yahweh sent them to me and me to them, but some were sent away from me, and I away from them. In this moment, I know it is for the higher good, and for that I am grateful.
Women need other women--not to compete with one another, but to show the kind of grace only another woman can give. We all need women who decorate our lives by gently touching our souls. We all need an encourager who knows how to tell the truth without destroying the fiber of our being. And yet, there is more to the story...
We all need to find our own voices--on our own terms. We have to move forward knowing we can't connect with everybody, and certainly we can't save everybody. The saddest stories are the ones when the heroine saves everybody but herself. My circle of women friends--let this not be said about us. This is Tuesday talk.
