God's very own.
Mommie Dearest--
There are literally a thousand things I could say in the card, but really the
only thing I absolutely have to say is thank you. You've been supporting me for
almost twenty-three full years of life...that's a long time! I'll never be able
to express how appreciative I am that, although I've been far away the past four
years and minimally visit home, I've felt that our relationship has only grown
stronger. This process of transitioning is super, super difficult, but one of my
sole securities is that no matter where I am, I'll have you in my corner. Sooo,
mushy mushy blah blah: I love you.
Love Your Offspring,
Chinwe Eshé Okona
I'm glad you're mine
You're truly one of a kind
Happy Mother's Day
(Yes, I made this a haiku)
Chinwe is graduating from undergraduate school this coming Monday (Memorial
Day) and I don't know what she's going to do but God has big plans for her and
no matter where she finds herself there will never be any space between us. We
are family. This is Tuesday talk.
