I have been biking a lot these days and on the journey something always catches my eyes but I don't stop...I keep going. On this particular day, a tiny spider with an elaborate web stops me in my tracks. The tiny thing struggles to find her footing, something has damaged the web but she continues to weave. This is not a small catastrophe, it's big. I don't think she will ever be able to fix it. Fascinated, I watch her for a few more minutes...will she be able to repair such an important part of the masterpiece? But I get bored and only stay long enough to see her struggle a little more and then I move on...this is her masterpiece not mine.
The spider's story is yours and mine. We create something beautiful and then something comes along and damages the work. We want others to watch and hold our hands as we struggle, but that's not always realistically possible. We must decide to continue the work even when nobody is watching and cheering us on. The spider encouraged me to keep weaving. This is Tuesday talk.
