We have all heard the saying, "when you have done all you can--pray." My friend Kenny Green says it best: "Pray and get out the way--God has the final say." For me the power in prayer is like the phone ringing for a long time and it seems like no one is going to answer and then somebody picks up and communication is established. The situation may not change but because there was a connection you have a sense of peace that even if it doesn't work out the way you want it to, it is okay because you are not alone. It is the inner assurance of, "I AM is here and I AM is listening." Prayer is like a point of reference in a state of chaos; it is the anchor that is stronger and deeper than our daily struggles. Prayer is the renewal of our perspectives and the extending of our horizons. It is light shining on our fears and sorrows but also on our hopes, joys and tomorrows. Praying without ceasing helps us to grow and to be and as we pray we are empowered and strengthen. This is Tuesday talk and I am on my knees.
