A lawyer, politician, famous musician, religious leader, hollywood
celebrity and wall street executive all put their souls up for sale on
craigslist. The dialogue starts like this: "given the fact that I finally
realize life is a joke and I no longer need my soul I am putting it up for sale
to the highest bidder. You can be the proud owner of my soul, think of all the
fun you can have with it. You can use it for barginning purposes, start a
collection of lost souls, or keep it in your trunk for emergencies--the
possibilities are endless." "What a great deal!" On a good day most of us are
relieved to call it just that--"a great deal". But in a sea of depression,
where you are drowning and lost because you have sold your soul, a deal is
simply putting it too lightly. These people talk about selling their souls
without really knowing what it means. When you have sold your soul, your essence
is gone and you are a walking corpse--you are dead! When it comes to souls, we
don't expect a plethora of buyers, but it's a buyers market. Everybody wants to
know your price and if you don't have one the offer keeps rising until you are
bought. But what does it profit any of us if we gain the whole world
and lose our soul?
Our soul knows the way, we just have to listen and be still.
Oftentimes, we are so focused on what the seller has to offer we overlook the
true value of our own worth. What is offered will never be more valuable than
your own. Take some time today to turn off the voice of the lawyer, the
politician, the famous musician, the religious leader, the hollywood celebrity
and the wall street executive. After you have turned off their voices and all
the other voices that keep telling you all the wrong things; demand quietness so
you can hear what God wants you to know. DON'T SELL YOUR SOUL TO ANYBODY--be
still and know. This is Tuesday talk--I hope you heard me.
[Lyrics of a song written 11 years ago]...
When you can't bear it all--THE SOUL KNOWS
When you can't listen to what you hear--THE SOUL KNOWS
When you can't stand what you see--THE SOUL KNOWS
Row, row, row your boat
Eighty-five day on the Atlantic
THE SOUL KNOWS the way
Even when, the body--personality afraid
THE SOUL KNOWS
And somehow, you can't seem to find the way
THE SOUL KNOWS
Reaching for the sky is not enough--
You want the moon
You want every epiphanies
When you can't hold it all--THE SOUL KNOWS
When you can't make it another day--THE SOUL KNOWS
When you can't feel another's touch--THE SOUL KNOWS
In the eye of the storm
Not knowing the outcome
THE SOUL KNOWS THE WAY
